Bioimpedance Analyzer

If you are serious about being healthy there are many factors that are important and should be monitored on a regular basis. Some of these important health monitoring items are; Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Body Fat %, Lean Muscle Mass, BMI (Body Mass Index), BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate), TBW (Total Body Water) and more. Many people do not have the time or their insurance will not cover on-going testing that will help you know if your exercise program is beneficial. Urban Fitness has added a new service to help you monitor your goals; for only $20 you can have the following tests performed by one of our Certified Personal Trainers.*

In less than 10 minutes you can learn more about your current health and, if needed, we can help answer any questions to make your exercise and diet more productive. We will  start by taking your Blood Pressure and Pulse and then connect you to the BIA 310 Bioimedance Analyzer through standard ECG sensor pad electrodes. Resistance and reactance, the two components of impedance, are measured directly from the body. Using regression analysis, the analyzer computes:

  • Fat-Free Mass (or Lean Body Weight)
  • Fat Mass (or Fat Body Weight)
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
  • Total Body Water (TBW)
  • TBW/Body Weight
  • TBW/Fat-Free Mass
  • Blood Pressure
  • Accurate Weight
  • Heart Rate

Results are printed out and you can take the results to your doctor or we can put them in your member file for comparison upon your next testing, we recommend once every 6-12 weeks so you can adjust your training and diet based on the information provided.

*Urban Fitness and the BIA 310 Bioimpedance Analyzer will not diagnose disease or recommend treatment regimens, or quantify treatment effectiveness. Only a qualified health care professional can make these judgments.
